Mr. and Mrs. Albert Halvorson and family came out from Lake Preston with their five children about 1913, when they filed on a homestead. The two youngest were born in Stanley County. They were Ella and Clarence. Bill, the oldest, has made his home with the Fosheim family for many years and helping with the ranch work.

Albert and Carrie's son Oscar died in Deer Lodge, Montana He was born in Buffalo Center, Iowa. He lived in Midland, South Dakota, then worked in Olympia Washington. In 1961 he moved to Deer Lodge, Montana where his brother Albert, sister Pearl and Ella lived. Brother William was living in Midland, South Dakota at the time.
