Description	:	Services were held Monday, Nov. 3 at Second Reformed Church in Lennox for Albert Wheelhouse who died Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008 at Lyon Manor Nursing Home in Rock Rapids, Iowa where he had resided since March 16, 2007. He was 95 years old. Officiating during the service was the Rev. Harlan Hayunga. Esther Buse was organist. David Fergen sang "Whispering Hope" and "I Can Only Imgaine". Pallbearers were Myron Bramstedt, Wayne Bramstedt, Nick Person, Philip Person, Matt Smith, Dale Engelman, and Gene Engelman. Interment was held in the Lennox Cemetery. Albert Henry Wheelhouse was born on a farm near Tea, SD on Dec. 30, 1912, the son of Albert and Hilka (Schoffelman) Wheelhouse. At six years of age he moved with his family to DeSmet, SD where he attended rural school and grew up. In 1934 Albert moved from DeSmet to Lennox and worked on farms in the Harrisburg area until 1937. He then moved to Miller, SD for 18 years and returned to Lennox in 1955 where he made his home. He was employed at Sioux Steel, retiring in 1969. After his retirement he was employed parttime for the City of Lennox with the Park and Street Departments, work he continued until after his 90th birthday. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers: Sander, Harm, Hillerick and John Wheelhouse; six sisters: Susan and Jenny Wheelhouse, Alice Larson, Henrietta Heksem, Minnie Clements and Anna Bramstedt. He is survived by a special niece, Alice Klinkenborg and her husband, Kerwin of Rock Rapids, Iowa; one brother, George Wheelhouse and his wife, Neva, of Estelline; one sister: Fannie Engelman of Miller; a brother-in-law: Henry Bramstedt of Harrisburg; several other nieces, nephews and many other relatives.
