He attained the age of 80 years, seven months and five days. Officiating the service was the Rev. Hugh Brewer. Esther Buse was organist. Soloist was David Fergen. Interment was held in the Lennox Cemetery. John Aaron Wheelhouse was born on a farm in Kingsbury County, near DeSmet, SD on Dec. 19, 1925, the son of Albert and Hilka (Schoffelman) Wheelhouse. He moved with his family to a farm near Tea where he attended rural school and grew up. On Mar. 25, 1950 he was united in marriage to Sena Irene Schriever in Luverne, MN. John was a farmer and a welder. They farmed near Lennox, then moved to Sioux Falls and then moved to their farm near Hartford. His wife died on Dec. 31, 1974. He moved to Kandiyohi, MN in 1983 where he farmed until his retirement. After retiring he worked at a turkey farm. Besides his parents and his wife, Sena, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Irene JoAnn; three brothers: Sander, Harm and Hillerick Wheelhouse; five sisters: Susanna and Jenny Wheelhouse, Alice Larson, Henrietta Heksem, and Minnie Clements. He is survived by one son, James E. Wheelhouse of Garland, TX; two daughters: Beverly Jarrell of Grand Junction, CO and Vickie Bahr of Brainerd, MN; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; two brothers: Albert Wheelhouse of Lennox and George Wheelhouse of Estelline; two sisters: Anna Bramstedt of Harrisburg and Fannie Engelman of Miller; plus several nieces and nephews.
