Description	:	Albert J. Hedinger, 89, of Corning, died Wed. Aug. 3, 2005 at the Alegent Health Mercy Hosptial. Services will be 10 am Sat. Aug. 6, 2005 at the Roland-Ritchie Funeral Home 905 Benton Corning. Rev. Steve Hunter will officiate. Burial will be at the Methodist Grove Cemetery of rural Corning. Albert John Hedinger, son of Ellen G. (Stalder) and Ferdinand A. Hedinger, was born Oct. 8, 1915 near Brooks in Adams County, IA. He was educated in Adams county schools. He served in the Army 32nd Division through the Red Arrow National Guard of Wisconsin & Michigan during World War II, including 7 campaigns in the south pacific, from Jan. 1942 until his discharge in 1945. On Dec. 26, 1955, he married Vonnie V. Johnston in Mt. Etna. They settled and farmed in the Brooks area, until retiring in 1987, when they moved into Corning. Albert was a member of the Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church until it closed and then attended the Mt. Etna Church of the Brethren. Albert also served on the Corning Community School Board for six years. Survivors include his wife, Vonnie, a daughter Kristy Ann (husband Allen) Richards of Corning, a son, Jeff (wife Becky) Hedinger of Corning: Grandsons Adam and Andrew Hedinger and Douglas, Susan, and Curtis Richards; sisters-in-law, Iola Hedinger of Nodaway, Eunice Beck of Corning, and Naomi Johnson of Des Moines; brother and sister-in-law, Darrel and Dailey Allison of Corning; and aunt, Kay Spring of Nodaway, and many nieces and nephews. Albert is preceded in death by his parents, a brother Russell Hedinger, an infant brother.
