Description	:	Albert Marion Sanders (born Marion Albert) lived the last 50+ years of his life in a duplex at 19 Glenwood Drive; just off South State St. in Westerville, OH. Prior to that, he lived just around the corner in a house next to his father's house at about 299 S. State St.. He was known widely in Westerville as "Tink." Read More	Albert Marion Sanders (born Marion Albert) lived the last 50+ years of his life in a duplex at 19 Glenwood Drive; just off South State St. in Westerville, OH. Prior to that, he lived just around the corner in a house next to his father's house at about 299 S. State St.. He was known widely in Westerville as "Tink." In his youth, he was known as Little Tink, because his older brother Charles, a twelve-letter athlete at Otterbein College, was the original Tink. He attended Otterbein College also. He enlisted 15 Oct 1918 in the Students' Army Training Corps at Otterbein, and was Honorably Discharged 11 Dec 1918. His uncle, Thomas Jefferson Sanders was once president of the college. Tink helped build the football stadium at Otterbein, which was replaced by a new structure in 2006. He worked as an electrician, then business manager at Otterbein. Prior to and during World War II he worked in the shipbuilding industry at Cleveland, Miami and on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. He did electrical work for many in Westerville well into his eighties. That's how Tink became well known. He tended to whistle while he worked, and was a most accomplished and melodious whistler. He was small in stature. Pound for pound he was probably the strongest man you would ever meet. He was a faithful member Church of the Master United Methodist Church (originally United Brethren, then Evangelical United Brethren) in Westerville, OH, on the campus of Otterbein College. He was a member of Young-Budd Post 171 American Legion.
