He was employed in the Jackson County office of the Agricultural Adjustment Administration 22 years, was director of the Jackson County Rural Electrical Ass'n several years, and had been a trustee for Banner Township in Jackson County. He was employed in the Jackson County office of the Agricultural Adjustment Administration 22 years, was director of the Jackson County Rural Electrical Ass'n several years, and had been a trustee for Banner Township in Jackson County. He was born March 26, 1896, the son of George and Annie Longnecker Decker. He spent his life in Jackson County. He served in the Navy during WW I. Mr. Decker was a member of First United Methodist Church and Holton Lodge No. 42 of AF&AM, both at Holton. He was a 50-year member of Banner Grange and an honorary member of Future Farmers of America at Holton High School. He had received a conservation award from the Kansas State Bankers Ass'n. He married Clara Bossler in October 1919. She died in March 1950. He married Fannie Jenkins in August 1951. She died Nov. 8, 1976. Survivors include a son, Marvin Decker, a daughter, Mrs. Bonnie Williams; two stepsons, Lyle Jenkins and Donald Jenkins; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Dorothy Rice; three brothers, Samuel Decker, John Decker and Phares Decker; three sisters: Mrs. Irene Castle, Mrs. Georgine Coleman and Mrs. Edna Coleman; six grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
