Description	:	Albert "Curly" Glines, 93, of Chester, has passed away. He was the last surviving team member of The Red Bluff High School star football players from 1929. He was born in Red Bluff, to Crowder and Brendella (Apple) Glines, two pioneer families who settled in Paynes Creek in 1880. In 1937, he married Mary Ellegood. She died in 1948 in Chester. He was the last surviving team member of The Red Bluff High School star football players from 1929. He was born in Red Bluff, to Crowder and Brendella (Apple) Glines, two pioneer families who settled in Paynes Creek in 1880. In 1937, he married Mary Ellegood. She died in 1948 in Chester. In 1950, he married Mildred DeHaven, a union that lasted fifty two years until her passing in 2002. He was raised in the Battle Creek Canyon and Red Bluff. After high school graduation he followed his heart to the outdoors where he worked for the National Park Service and the CCC. Curly then began his career in the lumber industry, going to work for Red River Lumber Company and then working for Collins Pine Lumber Company the first year they opened until his last day in 1978. Curly never had an ill word to say about anyone and was always there to lend a helping hand to those in need. He helped Plumas County by serving as District 3 Supervisor for 4 years and was the leader in beginning Wildwood Senior Center. He was a founding member of the Chester Community Services District and served until 2003. Union Representative for the Lumber and Industrial Workers Union, Local 3074 from 1963-78. He was a member of the Lions Club and the Volunteer Fire Department. Curly leaves in passing his sons. Albert Glines, Donald Glines, Bill DeHaven, Biff DeHaven, eighteen grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren who will miss 'GRANDPA THE GREAT", A celebration of Curly's life will take place at the Chester District Cemetery.
