Description	:	Albert Ray Eshelman was born May 2, 1923 to Earl and Vera (Ray) Eshelman and had lived all of his life in Adair County. He passed away on March 15, 2002 at the University of Nebraska Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 78 years. Albert attended Eureka Township country school through the 8th grade. He was married to Dorothy Thompson in 1947. Five children were born to this union: Steven, Cindy, Debby, Craig, and Jerry. He passed away on March 15, 2002 at the University of Nebraska Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 78 years. Albert attended Eureka Township country school through the 8th grade. He was married to Dorothy Thompson in 1947. Five children were born to this union: Steven, Cindy, Debby, Craig, and Jerry. Albert was an ambitious farmer throughout his life and purchased 160 acres near Eureka Center in 1951 then later expanded to 320 acres. Over the years, Albert did a lot of custom work and raised turkeys commercially. He cared for the land and animals, especially his pride and joy of a cow-calf herd. He married Shirley (Stapleton) Miller, who was the mother of four children: Judy, Dale Lee, Mark, and Mike. Together they had a son, Todd. In 1994 he married Itha Carns who was the mother of three sons: John, Frank, and Clark. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Eugene, and step-granddaughter, Sheri Metzger. He is survived by his wife, Itha Eshelman of Fontanelle; four sons, Steven Eshelman and wife Cindy of Winterset, Craig Eshelman and wife Phyllis of Bridgewater, Jerry Eshelman and wife Vicki of Greenfield, and Todd Eshelman of Ankeny; two daughters, Cindy Schildberg and husband John of Greenfield and Debby Manning and husband Bob of Kansas City; grandchildren; step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren; sister, Edith Channel and husband Olin of Ohio and twin sister and brother, Karol Sivadge and husband Ham of Fontanelle and Kenneth Eshelman and wife Mary Alice of Des Moines; sister-in-law, June Marckmann of Fontanelle, wife of late brother Eugene; and a host of relatives and friends. The family of Albert Eshelman wishes to express their gratitude for all the acts of kindness shown to them in their time of sorrow and invite you to share in a lunch at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church following services at the cemetery.
