Description	:	With family at his side, Albert Robertus, 86, of Park City, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Aug. 22, 2010, at the Laurel Evergreen Health and Rehab. Albert was born Dec. 30, 1923, in Fort Collins, Colo., the sixth of 10 children born to Henry and Elizabeth (Grasmich) Robertus. Albert was born Dec. 30, 1923, in Fort Collins, Colo., the sixth of 10 children born to Henry and Elizabeth (Grasmich) Robertus. In 1926 the family moved to the Laurel area where he resided throughout his life. As a 16 year old, he moved to Glendive to pursue a farming venture with his brother John and sister Millie. Albert enlisted in the army on Nov. 14, 1944, at Fort Douglas, Utah. As a rifleman, he served in Luzon, Philippines during the Pacific campaign of WWII. He was wounded and received the Purple Heart. Having contracted malaria, he then spent the remainder of his enlistment hospitalized, six weeks on a hospital ship and also in Japan, after the war ended. Before settling into a life of farming, he spent time hauling supplies in the oil fields of Wyoming. Albert married Jean Sitzman on Jan. 27, 1951. Together they raised their family of five while working on the farm. They shared their love of farming as they worked together in the dairy and growing sugar beets, corn and grain. Albert was a long time member of St. John's Lutheran Church where he served as an usher. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Big Ditch Company and the Federal Land Bank.
