Alberta "Bernice" Kirk Brewer, 87, of Muscatine, died Friday, September 21, 2007 at Unity Hospital in Muscatine. The Rev.Sharon Phillips will officiate. A memorial has been established at the funeral home in Bernice�s name. Bernice was born on March 16, 1920, in Agency, Iowa, the daughter of Raymond and Flora (Humble) Schell. On May 18, 1937, Bernice was united in marriage to Glen Kirk in Ottumwa, Iowa. She later married Donald Brewer on June 3, 1984 in Muscatine. She was employed at the Hon Geneva Plant as a sewer for eighteen years. Bernice was a past member of the Ladies of the Moose and a life member of the Eagles Lodge. She enjoyed reading, playing pool, caring for her houseplants, gardening and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Bernice will be deeply missed by three sons, Gerald Kirk and his wife, Darlene of Letts, Larry Kirk and his wife, Shirley of Durant, and Albert Kirk and his wife, Cheryl of Davenport; one daughter, Nancy Hinz and her husband, Richard; one brother, Vernon Wayne Schell of Blakeburg, Iowa; one sister, Shirley Erickson and her husband, Gary of Altoona; 11 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and special neighbors and friends, Jim and Donna Shaw. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands, one son, Donald Kirk, one grandson, Jason Hinz, and one great-grandson, Jacob Kirk.
