Alberta married Elmer "Butch" Martens December 31, 1941 in Fremont. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Fremont and was their longest living member at the time of her death. She was a member of the Prairie Piece Makers and the Nebraska Needle Art Guild. She was an Elks Auxiliary DOE. Survivors include her daughter Sara Martens and her husband Lee Barfknecht of Omaha; sister, Ann Tekolste of Raytown, MO; granddaughter Alaina Martens of Omaha; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Butch on October 25, 1992; brother Ernest Schmidt; and sister Erna VonSeggern. FUNERAL SERVICE 11am, Monday, June 3 at the Presbyterian Church in Fremont. The Rev. Earl Underwood will officiate. VISITATION with family receiving friends will be 3-6pm Sunday at Moser Memorial Chapel, Fremont. VISITATION will continue one hour prior to the service at church Monday. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery, Fremont. Memorials may be directed to the Presbyterian Church or Fremont Area Medical Center.
