He was preceded in death by his parents, Hans B. and Meta Kahnk Martens. He is survived by his wife, Alberta; a daughter and son-in-law, Sara and Lee Barfknecht of Omaha and one brother, Marvin Martens of Fremont. Pallbearers were Rupert Dunklau, Myron Brand, Bill Schmidt, Kirk Martens, Rudy Carlson and Roger Anderson. Memorials may go to the Fremont Presbyterian Church or Memorial Hospital Foundation.
