Carney, 85-year-old farmer of Given, were held from the Fairview church on Sunday afternoon and burial was in the church cemetery. He was a well known and highly esteemed resident of the county and was a progressive farmer and owned and operated one of the many fine farms in the Parchment valley. The Vail undertaking company of Ripley had charge of the funeral arrangements. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Winters Carney, of Given, and the following children: Mrs. Willie Boswell, of Leon, Mason county, Thurman Carney, of Leon; Howard Carney, of Detroit; Miss Flora and Miss Fannie Carney, both of Detroit; Mrs. John Casto, of Ripley, and Miss Belle Carney, at home,
