Burial in the Agency cemetery. -------------------- Obituary From “Ottumwa Courier,” December 2, 1912: Alexander Giltner was the son of William and Betsy Giltner who were early pioneers in the settlement of Wapello county, coming to this community in 1843. The deceased was the second son born to this union, being born in Rush county, Indiana Dec. 23, 1840. He enlisted early in the civil war and served until discharged for disability. On Sept. 21, 1865 he was united in marriage to Miss Amelia A. Roberts [sic] who died April 17, 1877. Five boys were born to this union, William J., George R., Fredrick, E.E. and Roy A. Fredrick and Roy died early in life. September 12, 1878 Mr. Giltner was united in marriage to Miss Fannie M. Jones, who with his three sons survive him. Funeral services were held in the Agency M.E. church Friday Nov. 22 at 2 p.m., services in charge of Rev. Hankins. Interment in the Agency cemetery.–Contributed. Note: Alexander's first wife, Amelia, and their two sons Roy and Freddie are buried in Round Point Cemetery. There are also cenotaph stones for Amelia, Roy, and Freddie with Alexander's stone.
