Read More	Alexander Jodrey 1951 Bridgewater Bulletin The community of Stanley Section lost one of its highly respeceted citizens in the passing of Alexander Jodrey, whose death occurred on Sunday morning, July 22, at the home of his son, Robert Jodrey, where he had been visiting. Mr. Jodrey had been in failing health for a number of years, but was able to be around visiting with the different members of his family. His death came suddenly and was a great shock to his family. He was born in New Germany 80 years ago, a son of the late Joshua Joudrey and Betsy Varner Jodrey. He leaves three sons, Joseph and Chas., New Germany; Robert, at Stanley Section; seven daughters, Margaret, Mrs. Restus Robar, New Germany; Sadie, Mrs. Robert Emino, and Glennis, Mrs. Leo Simpson, Simpson's Corner; Annie, Mrs. Murray Mader, Stanley Section; Levy, Mrs. Ben Oxner, Watertown, Mass.; Alemith, Mrs. Raymond Smith, Cambridge, Mass.; Myrtle of Middleton. His wife predeceased him seven years ago; also two daughters, Elsie and Jean. There are a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren. The deceased was a member of the Anglican Church. The funeral was held at St. John's Anglican Church, New Germany, on Thursday afternoon. July 24, conducted by the rector, Rev. W.R. Martell, who gave a comforting message from the text, "How are the dead raised up and with what body do they appear."Hymns sung were "There Is No Night in Heaven," "Nearer My God to Thee," and "Safe In The Arms of Jesus." The pall bearers were Oscar Feindel, Ray Russell, Robert Feindel, and Russell Wile. The floral offerings were beautiful, a silent tribute to the departed, testifying to the high esteem in which he was held by a large circle of relatives and friends. With thanks to Rosemary Rafuse.
