Alexander, Thompson, better known as "Sandy" Thompson died early Monday morning at the home of John Staley south of town. Several years ago he suffered from a stroke of paralysis and had been in failing health ever since. Sunday afternoon he took a horse and went to visit one of his neighbors. Alexander, Thompson, better known as "Sandy" Thompson died early Monday morning at the home of John Staley south of town. Several years ago he suffered from a stroke of paralysis and had been in failing health ever since. Sunday afternoon he took a horse and went to visit one of his neighbors. He did not return as soon as expected and about 10 o'clock that evening the family became uneasy at his continued absence. His son went out to look for him and found the horse he had taken standing at the gate. Lights were secured and search was at once begun resulting in finding Mr. Thompson lying in an unconscious condition near the home of John Staley. He was carried in there and given every possible care, but sank slowly until his death which occurred about three o'clock the next morning. The deceased was over sixty years and had been a resident here most of that time. Those who knew him speak of him as a good neighbor of kindly character and disposition. He leaves a wife, two sons and a daughter to mourn his loss. The funeral services will be held today at Mt. Zion church.
