Edgeton Taken by Death Last Saturday Funeral Services Held Tuesday; Death Came Following Long Illness Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Johannsen funeral home for Mrs. Frank Edgeton of this city, who died in Presbyterian hospital at Waterloo, Saturday, Sept. 27, at 12:10 a.m. at the age of 71 years. Rev. Henry Warkentin of the Presbyterian church conducted the rites. Earl Sowie of Dubuque and Mrs. Harry Kline and Mrs. Fred Lehman sang, accompanied by Mrs. C.A. Brust. Casket bearers were officers of the Knights of Pythias Lodge. Burial was made in West View cemetery. Mrs. Edgeton had been ill with arterio sclerosis several years and her condition gradually grew worse and terminated in a cerebral hemorrhage shortly before her death. She was taken to the Presbyterian hospital for treatment on Sept. 18. Aley Elizabeth Momenteller, the oldest of six children, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Ira Momenteller, Feb. 13, 1876 in Stockton, Ill. There she grew to womanhood. She was educated in the Stockton school and received a teacher’s certificate. On March 28, 1894, she was married to Thomas D. Burk in Stockton, where they made their home for several years. Four daughters were born to them. Mr. Burke and two daughters, Mrs. George Ponsford, Sr. and Mrs. Clarice Girsch, are deceased. Feb. 6, 1909 she married Louis L. Schubert in Peoria, Ill. and they lived in that city three years. In October of 1912 the family moved to La Porte City which was her home until her death with the exception of ten years residence in Corvallis, Oregon. Mr. Schubert is also deceased. She was remarried in La Porte City to Frank Edgeton who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. John Betts, La Porte City and Mrs. C.M. Czizek, Corvallis, Oregon; one step daughter, Mrs. L.C. Dougas, Sacramento, Calif., two grandchildren, George Ponsford, Jr., La Porte City, and Mrs. Regis Foss, Corvallis, Oregon; 2 great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Mullens, Dubuque and one brother, W.L. Momenteller, Pearl City, Ill. One sister and three brothers preceded her in death. Relatives and friends from out of town who attended the funeral services were Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Momenteller, Pearl City, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Morris Auman and Mrs. J.E. Momenteller, Belvidere, Ill.; Mrs. Clifford Sanders, Miss Mae Boyle, Herbert and Owen Boyle, Stockton, Ill.; Mrs. Ronald Brown, Lenark, Ill.; Mrs. C.M. Czizek, Corvallis, Ore.; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Sowie, Mr. and Mrs. J.R. Mullens, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Mullens and Mrs. Myrtle Mullens, Dubuque; Arnold Girsch and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Saylor, Waterloo and Mrs. Will Rogers and Mrs. Fred Donaldson of Center Point.
