The deceased, who had resided in this community during his entire life, had a host of friends in the northern Indiana area. For the past 55 years Mr. Robbins was engaged in the livestock business and prior to that long tenure of activity, he followed the occupation of farming. He served as a member of the Rochester City Council for a term of 12 years and throughout his life he took an active interest in the civic, religious and political affairs of the city and county. Alfred D, son of Cyrus H. and Sarah C. (SMALL) ROBBINS, was born on the Robbins homestead farm, two and a half miles southwest of Rochester, on February 11, 1861. He was united in marriage with Edna ROTH on January 18, 1925; the ceremony being solemnized at the present residence of the Robbins', 217 West 11th Street. Mr. Robbins was a member of the Rochester Methodist church and served as a trustee of that edifice. The survivors are his wife; two brothers, Charles E. ROBBINS, of this city; Roy ROBBINS, of Miami, Ind.; three sisters, Mrs. Dora PYLE, Mrs. Bert COLE, both of this city; Mrs. Albert MARTINDALE, of Peru, and a number of nieces and nephews. The funeral services will be held Friday afternoon, 2:30 o'clock at the Methodist church. Rev. Robert ROSS-SHANNON, who will be in charge of the services, will be assisted by Rev. Glenn McGEE. Interment will be made in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Methodist church from 1 p.m. until the hour of the service where friends may pay their respects.
