Description	:	Alfred DeVerne Stober, age 78, formally of Centerville, Iowa passed away Friday, October 2, 2009 at Citizens Hospital in Talladega, Alabama. He was born the son of Marsceille and Enid(Cox)Stober on July 30, 1931 in Monteray Iowa. He graduated from the Moulton High School. Alfred served his country in the United States Navy from 1950-1951. He worked at Iowa Southern Utilities in Centerville, Iowa from 1956-1966, Eastern Iowa, and then to FDIC in Washington, DC as a computer specialist. He was born the son of Marsceille and Enid(Cox)Stober on July 30, 1931 in Monteray Iowa. He graduated from the Moulton High School. Alfred served his country in the United States Navy from 1950-1951. Alfred retired as a Associate Warden from the Bureau of Prisons which took him to different cities including Washington, DC, Leavenworth, Kansas, Ashland, Kentucky, Chicago, Illinois, and Talladega, Alabama. On August 18, 1956 he was united in marriage to Carolyn Boyer in Bloomfield, Iowa. They were married for 53 years. He is preceded in death by: his parents; son Raoul Stober. Alfred is survived by: his wife; Carolyn Stober, daughters; Victoria Beall of Lansing, Kansas, and Jackie Lynn Garner of Durant Oklahoma, son; Devin Stober of Birmingham, Alabama; sister, Ryla Fenton of Centerville, Iowa; grandchildren, Jennifer Baptista of Leavenworth, Kansas, Andrew Beall of San Fransisco, California, Oliver Beall of Emmett, Kansas, Kerry Stober of Auburn, Allabama, Leandra Turney of Ft. Lee, Viriginia, Rebekah Stober of Talladega, Alabama, Hannah Garner of Durant, Oklahoma; and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 6, 2009, at 10am at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Centerville, Iowa with the Rev. Carl Heien officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at the Main Station Cemetery in Moravia, Iowa. Public visitation will be held Monday, October 5, 2009 from 1-8pm with the family present from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to the Red Door Kitchen.
