Description	:	Mr. Alfred Franklin Cook, 84, of Route 2, Pilot Mountain, passed away Saturday morning, Dec. 23, 2000, at the Northern Hospital of Surry County in Mount Airy. Mr. Cook was born in Surry County on June 13, 1916, to Powell S. and Mary Elizabeth Simmons Cook. He was a retired farmer and a member of Simmons Grove Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Lillian Jessup Cook, of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, Thurman F. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Vernie Mae Marshall, two brothers, the Rev. Wesley Cook and Virgil Cook, and a sister, Delia A. Cook. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2000, at the Cox-Needham Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Jessup and the Rev. Eugene Brinkley officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Westfield Friends Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 25, 2000.
