Mr. Egger was born June 22, 1904, in Dubuque county on his family's farm east of Hopkinton. He attended rural Delaware county schools and farmed with his parents until he married Anna Marie Brodersen, Dec. 28, 1927 in Monticello. He farmed in Dubuque county from 1928 to 1945, then moved to Monticello, where he operated an implement store in partnership with Edward Cox until 1959. Mr. Egger opened Egger Implement in Manchester and in 1964 moved to Manchester. He sold the business and retired in 1968. He was a co-founder and lifelong board member of Camp Courageous. He was a member of the Community Congregational Church, Manchester; Burns Lodge 73, AF&AM, Monticello; Royal Arch Mason Mount Sinai Lodge 166, Anamosa; Delaware County Shrine and El Kahir Shrine, Cedar Rapids. He is survived by his wife and a son, Roland of Conrad; a daughter, Ruth Ann, at home; a sister, Mrs. John H. Smith, and a brother, Herman P. Egger, both of Monticello; four grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren.
