The Rev. Russell D. Eldridge Jr., officiated at the services. Anna Egger died Tuesday, July 26 at the Senior Home in Monticello following a brief illness. She was born July 15, 1907 near Wyoming, the daughter of Peter and Christian Thomsen Brodersen. she received her education in the Wyoming area schools, graduating in 1924. She received her teaching certificate from Iowa State Teachers College in 1926 and taught in the Spencerville School near Wyoming for two years. On December 27, 1927, she married Alfred J. Egger at Monticello. The couple farmed near Sand Springs until 1945 when he became a partner in Monticello Implement and Truck. In 1959 he started Egger Implement in Manchester and in 1961 the couple moved to Manchester. He preceded her in death on October 30, 1980. she continued to make her home in Manchester until June, 1988 when her health caused her to move to the Senior Home in Monticello. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Manchester where she was active in many church groups. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include a son, Roland Egger of Monticello; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter Ruth Ann and one brother. Casketbearers were Ronnie Jo Egger, Randy Brodersen, Richard Hanssen, Merle Cox, John Egger and Tom Brodersen. Goettsch Funeral Home in Monticello was in charge of arrangements.
