Description	:	Obituary From “Ottumwa Courier,” October 26, 1955: NATIVE OF ENGLAND, RETIRED MINER DIES Alfred John Dyer, 92, native of England and retired coal miner, died at 3:55 p.m. Tuesday at Ottumwa hospital. His residence is at 545 Pershing avenue. He was born at Berkshire, England, September 11, 1863. He came to the United States and this area when 10 years old. He had lived in Ottumwa 45 years, and mined in this vicinity. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Traul funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Donald Gill, pastor of First Christian church. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery.
