Description	:	Alfred Jurgen Gluesing, son of Reimer and Sophie (Grill) Gluesing, was born on October 31, 1891, in Hanover Township, Crawford County, and died at his home on August 7, 1972. He had been in poor health in recent months and hospitalized at the local hospital several times. He was married to Rosa Hammer on February 11, 1914. They lived on a farm near Schleswig, then farmed for 27 years Goodrich Township and for two years in Hanover Township, before moving to Denison in 1947. Read More	Alfred Jurgen Gluesing, son of Reimer and Sophie (Grill) Gluesing, was born on October 31, 1891, in Hanover Township, Crawford County, and died at his home on August 7, 1972. He had been in poor health in recent months and hospitalized at the local hospital several times. He was married to Rosa Hammer on February 11, 1914. They lived on a farm near Schleswig, then farmed for 27 years Goodrich Township and for two years in Hanover Township, before moving to Denison in 1947. Mrs. Gluesing preceded him in death on December 7, 1963. Mr. Gluesing was baptized in early infancy and later confirmed in Zion Lutheran Church where he was a member for many years. His funeral services were held at Zion Lutheran Church on Thursday morning with the Rev. Carl W. Schmidt officiating. Hymns were sung by Henry Henningsen accompanied by Mrs. Fred Rabe who served as organist. Interment was made in the Morgan Township Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers; Louis Hinricksen, Meinhardt Jaacks, James Keating, John McClellan, Marvine Petersen and Marvin Schwenn. Surviving are a son, Arnold and a daughter, Esther. Mrs. George Maack, both of Denison, two grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; one brother, Arthur Gluesing of Soldier, Iowa, and one sister, Mrs. Leona Grill of Denison. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Rosa, two sons, Vernon, who died in the Second World War and Edwin; one daughter Ruth who died in childhood; and one child died in infancy.
