Read More	Arnold Alfred Gluesing was born on Nov. 9, 1914, the son of Alfred and Rosa Hammer Gluesing. He died on Saturday, July 31, 1993 at the Denison Care Center in Denison, at the age of seventy-eight years. Arnold was born on a farm in Hanover Township. He was baptized on Dec. 31, 1914 and later confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison on April 13, 1930. As a young Boy he received his education in a rural school near his home. After completing his education, Arnold worked on the farm for his father. On Nov. 17, 1937, Arnold was united in marriage to Hattie Jepsen in Zion Lutheran Church by Rev. C.W. Schmidt. After their marriage they settled on a farm in Hanover Township and were blessed with the birth of two children. In December of 1957 the couple retired from farming, settled in Denison and purchased Hattie's Place, which they managed until 1975. Arnold entered the Denison Care Center in 1991 because of his health. In his spare time, Arnold enjoyed playing cards. He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather and was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church in Denison. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Vernon, Edwin, and one in infancy; two sisters, Esther Maack and Ruth. Survivors include his wife, Hattie of Denison; one daughter, Joyce Vogt and her husband, DeLaine of Denison; one son, Larry and his wife, Janet of Cape Girardeau, Mo. Also, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one brother-in-law, George Maack of Denison. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 3, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Denison, la. Pastor Kurt Kaiser officiated the service and graveside rites held at the Crawford Heights Memory Gardens in Denison. Karen Kahl provided the organ accompaniment for vocalists, Henry and Marge Henningsen singing, "How Great Thou Art" and congregational hymns, "Just As I Am, Without One Plea" and "I Know That My Redeemer Lives." Pallbearers were Edward Sonnichsen, Fred McClellan, Wilmer Ehrichs, DeLaine Blunk, Harold Eggert and Harold Fink. The Walter A. Huebner and Sons' Funeral Home in Denison were in charge of arrangements.
