Son of Frank J. and Veronica (Kush) Kuta, he was born April 28, 1920 at Shelby and attended high school in Columbus. He served in the Army from Aug. 17, 1939, to May 10, 1944, and was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received during the Sicilian campaign. He was a charter member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Kuta, who was retired, had farmed in Nebraska and worked as an electrical technician in California. He was married to Lorraine Swolek, who survives. Also surviving are four sons, Alfred Jr., Thomas, John and David, all of Columbus; two daughters, Shirley of Norfolk and Gera of Columbus; two grandchildren, Tascha and Scott; his mother, Veronica Kuta of Columbus; five brothers, Lonnie, Raymond, Edward and Marvin of Columbus, Earl of Wyoming; one sister, Mrs. Jean Egger of Omaha. He was preceded in death by one son, Michael; his father and one brother, Frank Jr.
