He was the son of pioneer parents, Zepherine and Annizie Cyrier and grew to manhood on their farm north of Aurora. He was christened and confirmed in St. Peter's Catholic church at Aurora. Read More	Concordia Blade-Empire, Jan. 31, 1956 page 6: Alcide Homer Cyrier was born June 4, 1895 at Aurora and died suddenly at his home in Jamestown on Jan. 27, 1956 at the age of 60 years, seven months and 23 days. He was the son of pioneer parents, Zepherine and Annizie Cyrier and grew to manhood on their farm north of Aurora. He was christened and confirmed in St. Peter's Catholic church at Aurora. In 1915 the family moved to Concordia and Alcide entered the service of his country by enlisting in the Army in 1918. In June 1918 he sailed for France where he served until June 1919. He was married to Odette Denise Lagasseau in Libourne, France, on March 29, 1919. To them three children, Bernard, Lillian and Leonard were born. He moved with his family to a farm near Jamestown in 1931 and in 1936 moved into Jamestown. His wife preceded him in death on Jan. 15, 1938, and his son, Leonard on April 9, 1936. On April 15, 1939, he was married to Mrs. Leona Brooks of Glasco. Survivors are his wife, Leona; his son, Bernard A. Cyrier and wife, Madeline of Nacogdoches, Tex.; his daughter, Mrs. Lillian Ruud and her husband, Arthur Ruud of Jamestown; a stepson, Richard S. Brooks and wife, Alve, of Wyandotte, Mich.; seven grandchildren: Wayne and Jerry Ruud, Katherine, James, Theresa and Stephen Cyrier, and Susan Brooks; three sisters: Mrs. Cecilia Dandurand of Sioux City, Iowa; Mrs. Matilda Florell, of Jamestown and Mrs. Anetta Kady of Jamestown; a brother, Arthur Cyrier of Concordia. Funeral services were held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Jamestown Monday, Jan. 30. Celebrant of the mass was Rev. Joseph Sheetz. Pallbearers were Frank Krizek, Donald Hutchinson, S.J. Gifford, W.J. Byrnes, Merrill Beaushaw and Harold Heaton. Graveside services were conducted by the Concordia VFW and interment was in the Concordia Catholic Cemetery.
