Mrs. Beck was born Nov. 20, 1924, in Silver Creek to Albert and Dony (Robak) Cutsor. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Don of Clarks; two sons and daughters-in-law, Alan and Lori Beck of Lincoln and Wayne and Denise Beck of Stromsburg; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Sharon and Tim Horacek of Kearney, Gloria Wolfe of Lincoln and Donna and Doug Shenk of Polk; one sister, Alberta Sock of Silver Creek; two brothers, Jim Cutsor of Vallejo, Calif., and Albert "Junior" Cutsor of Lincoln; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Alice graduated from Silver Creek High School in 1942 and then moved to Omaha. While living in Omaha, Alice worked at the Castle Hotel and Herzberg Beauty Salon. On Oct. 11, 1947, Alice and Donald Beck were united in marriage in Silver Creek. They lived in Omaha until returning to Merrick County in the late 1940s and they farmed near Clarks. Alice was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Clarks and was active in all areas of church life, including serving as president of the Altar Society. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and also served as president. Alice enjoyed flowers, cooking, and attending all of the sporting events of her children and grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents; three brothers, Jack, Raymond and Carl Cutsor; and one sister, Delores Koza.
