Alice Amelia Thompson was born Nov. 8, 1894 near Conroy, Iowa Co., Iowa, the daughter of Theodore and Elizabeth Ann Husted Thompson. She was married on Sept. 4, 1913 to William L. Kephart at Tipton. Alice Amelia Thompson was born Nov. 8, 1894 near Conroy, Iowa Co., Iowa, the daughter of Theodore and Elizabeth Ann Husted Thompson. She was married on Sept. 4, 1913 to William L. Kephart at Tipton. They lived on a farm near Webster until moving to Sigourney in 1927 where she spent the remainder of her life. She was a member of the Sigourney Christian Church and a member of the Eunice Group, C.W. F. of the church. She also belonged to the Sigourney Woman's Club and the Woman's Relief Corp. She was an active member for many years in the Daughters of the Union Veterans. She is survived by her husband; five daughters, Mrs. Lillian Ashby of Wellman, IA., Mrs. Catherine Sheets of Washington, IA., Mrs. Rose Ahrens of Dacca, E. Pakistan, Mrs. Jessie Sellers of Sigourney, and Mrs. Esther Vincent of Keota; four sons, William Lloyd of St Charles, Ill., Russell Lee of Decorah, IA., Norman Kenneth of Minneapolis, MN., and Norval Theordore (Swede) of Hedrick; 24 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Norman Sutliff of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Mrs. Ester Verconde of Brooklyn, Iowa. Preceding her in death were her parents, an infant son, Dean Wilson Kephart; a grandson, Jeffrey Lane Kephart; and two sisters, Hazel Thompson and Mrs. Bertha Klein. Funeral services were held on Sat., Nov. 6 at the Christian Church with Rev. Kirby Fuller officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Casket bearers were grandsons David Ahrens, LaVerne Shelman, Leon Shelman, Ronald Sheetz, Charles Vincent and Gary Vincent."
