Description	:	Obit.: " William Lloyd Kephart, age 87, passed away on Wed. evening, Jan. 24 at the Keokuk County Hospital. The son of William Lloyd and Fredrika Smith Kephart, he was born Oct. 10, 1891 at Cedar Rapids, IA. On Sept. 4, 1913 he was married to Alice Amelia Thompson at Tipton, and they lived on a farm near Webster until moving to Sigourney 50 years ago. He was employed as a bridge foreman for Keokuk County until retiring in 1957. He has been a resident of Maplewood Manor at Keota for the past six years. ... The son of William Lloyd and Fredrika Smith Kephart, he was born Oct. 10, 1891 at Cedar Rapids, IA. On Sept. 4, 1913 he was married to Alice Amelia Thompson at Tipton, and they lived on a farm near Webster until moving to Sigourney 50 years ago. He was employed as a bridge foreman for Keokuk County until retiring in 1957. He has been a resident of Maplewood Manor at Keota for the past six years. He was a member of the Christian Church in Sigourney. He is survived by 5 daughters: Mrs. Charles (Lillian) Ashby of Washington, Mrs. Merle (Catherine) Sheetz of Washington, Mrs. George (Rose) Ahrens of New Market, Virginia, Mrs. Cleo (Jessie) Sellers of Sigourney, and Mrs. Robert (Esther) Vincent of Keota; four sons: William Lloyd of Chillicothe, Ill., Russell Lee of Decorah, Norman Kenneth of Minneapolis, MN. and Norval Theodore of Sigourney; 26 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren and two sister, Mrs. Ida Querl of Williamsburg and Mrs. Florence Newhouse of Harper. Preceding him in death were his wife on Nov. 4, l965; his parents; a son, Dean Wilson; grandson, Jeffrey Lane Kephart; four brothers: George, Charles, Robert and Richard and three sisters: Mrs. Alice Mitchell, Mrs. Bell Wender and Mrs. Matilda Kephart. Funeral services were held on Sat. Jan. 27, at 1:30 at the Christian Church with Rev. Richard Pomeroy and Rev. Eugene Blake officiating. Interment was in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery at Sigourney. Bearers were Craig Kephart, James Kephart, John Kephart, Ronald Sheetz, Leon Shelman, William Vincent, David Ahrens, Kenneth, Neal, Russell, Scott and William Kephart, Lavern Shelman, Charles, Gary and Michael Vincent."
