Description	:	MONTELIER, Iowa — Alice Anita "Sally" Parish, 93, of Montpelier, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at her home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at the New Era Lutheran Church. Casketbearers will be Jim Ingersoll Sr., Jim Ingersoll Jr., Harry Black, Jim Black, Farrell Wiley and Allen Nichols. Burial will be in Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. Following the interment a time of food and fellowship will be held at the New Era Lutheran Church. Visitation for Sally will be 2-7 p.m. today at Geo. M. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at the New Era Lutheran Church. Casketbearers will be Jim Ingersoll Sr., Jim Ingersoll Jr., Harry Black, Jim Black, Farrell Wiley and Allen Nichols. Burial will be in Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. Following the interment a time of food and fellowship will be held at the New Era Lutheran Church. Visitation for Sally will be 2-7 p.m. today at Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services and from 9 a.m. until service time at the church on Saturday. Memorials may be made to the New Era Lutheran Church, Montpelier Fire Department or Hospice Compassus of Davenport in memory of Sally. Alice Anita Black was born on July 31, 1915, in Letts, the daughter of Elmer W. and Bertha L. Foster Black. On January 1, 1939, Sally was united in marriage to Floy Newton Parish in Letts. Sally was a member of the New Era Lutheran Church, and Women of the Moose, Muscatine, and was a 4-H Leader. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, gardening, playing cards and traveling. She had worked at the Elks Club, Davenport Bank and St. John's Methodist Church, all of Davenport, before retiring in 1977 from the Bethany Home, Moline, after 23 years. Sally will be deeply missed by her son, Kenneth Parish, of Montpelier, her dog, "Precious," and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, in 1982, and two brothers, Arthur and George Black. Quad Cities Times May 22,2009
