Description	:	Alice Mieras Alice Mieras, 96, of Sioux Center died Sunday, September 19, at the Sioux Center Hospital Nursing Wing. Memorial services were at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Reformed Church in Sioux Center with the Rev. Mark De Witt and the Rev. Arnold Punt officiating. Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Mieras was born July 26, 1903, the daughter of Tjeerd and Florence (Vander Weg) De Boer. Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Mieras was born July 26, 1903, the daughter of Tjeerd and Florence (Vander Weg) De Boer. She married John Mieras on February 24, 1927, in Sioux Center. The couple lived in Struble from 1931 until 1942, when they moved to Sioux Center. They operated the Southside Grocery Store for 14 years. He died April 1, 1953. She then was employed at ABC Grocery for five years and then with a veterinary office for 18 years. She was a member of First Reformed Church and Mary Circle. She enjoyed playing cards and crocheting. Survivors include three daughters, Charlotte Vermeer of Sioux Center, Betty and her husband Marvin "Bud" De Groot of Shelby, North Carolina, and Marlene and her husband Paul Den Herder of Tucson, Arizona; 12 grandchildren; and 34 greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Elaine; four brothers, Henry, John, Roy and George De Boer; a sister, Margaret Bartels; and a son-in-law, Andrew Vermeer.
