Benning Scheduled Here Friday Mrs. Quentin Benning, 38, died late Monday afternoon at Memorial hospital, where she had been under treatment for several days. She had been ill for several months but her sudden death was unexpected. Hers was the second death in the family within a few days. Her husband and his mother, Mrs. Louis Eaton, had been called to Waseca, Minn., by the death of a brother-in-law of Mrs. Eaton, and news of the sudden death of Mrs. Benning was received by them before they could return home. Funeral rites for Mrs. Benning will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at Trinity Lutheran Church and will be conducted by Rev. harry Ackerman. Burial will be in the G.A.R. Cemetery and the active pallbearers are Austin Odegaard, Highmore; Bill Baker, Kenneth Bradley, Kenneth Gard, Leonard Nelson and Ray Sommer. Personnel of the Andersen Creamery will serve in an honorary capacity. Mrs. Benning, the former Alice Nickelson, was born July 20, 1922, at Highmore, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Nickelson. She spent her early life in Hyde County, where she attended school, and later came to Miller, where she was employed. In 1948 she was married to Quentin Benning, and they established their home in Miller. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and an active worker in the Women's Missionary Society, as long as her health permitted. Surviving are her husband, two daughters, Beverly Ann, 11, and Karen Lee, 10; her mother; two sisters, Mrs. Lorene Schlenker, Highmore and Mrs. Vera Hanson, San Leandro, Calif.; and three brothers, Leo, Rapid City, James and Junior, Highmore. Her father and one brother preceded her in death.
