She was raised in Franklin County and received her education there. On October 12, 1926, Alice was united in marriage with Henry Clay Laub at Dows, Wright County, Iowa. Read More	The Denison Review Saturday, October 3, 1987 Alice Laub Alice Electa Laub was born in Franklin County, Iowa, February 21, 1898, one of twelve children born to James and Carrie Bartholomew Hawe. She was raised in Franklin County and received her education there. On October 12, 1926, Alice was united in marriage with Henry Clay Laub at Dows, Wright County, Iowa. To this union two children were born. Mr. Laub was a civil engineer and they made their home in Denison before moving to Council Bluffs in 1943. Following the death of her husband Henry, April 15, 1971, Alice made her home with her son in Minneapolis later moving to her daughter's home in Tabor. Since 1981, she had resided at the Tabor Manor Care Center. Alice died Wednesday evening September 30, 1987, at the Grape Community Hospital in Hamburg. At the time of her death she had attained the age of 89 years, seven months and nine days. She was an active member of the Fifth Avenue Methodist Church in Council Bluffs. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, nine sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her son and his wife of Minneapolis; her daughter and her husband of Nodaway; four grandchildren: two of Minneapolis, one and his wife of Omaha, Nebraska and one of Nodaway. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Graveside funeral services were held at 2PM Friday, October 2, 1987 at the Oakland Cemetery in Denison with the Rev. Lauris Meek officiating. Interment was in the Oakland Cemetery in Denison. The Pfannebecker Funeral Home in Denison was in charge of the arrangements.
