Obituary: Baird Funeral Home Alice Elizabeth Anderson was born at home (with her twin sister, Agnes) in Oakland, California. The twin were born prematurely and were so small they were put in shoe boxes and placed in the top drawer of the dresser. Their Aunt Agnes Borjesson placed hot water bottles around them to keep them warm and alive. The twins had two older sisters, Ruth Fisher and Selma Anderson. The four girls grew up on 41st Avenue in Oakland with their parents until the day they would all get married. Alice met her future husband, Jack, when she was only four years old. They both lived on the same street and attended the same schools. When the twins were in high school they would sometimes pretend they were the other twin to tease Jack. During WW2 my dad joined the Navy. While he was in St. Louis, Missouri my mom took the train all alone to get married to him. They got married on May 25, 1945. They had six children during their marriage. Being a Navy wife my mom always joked when dad would come home from deployment she got pregnant again! Their children's names are John, Janice, Philip, Kenneth, Scott (James), and Ross. Ross past away at age 20. When Jack retired they built their home in Bend, Oregon right down the street from Alice's twin sister, Agnes, and her husband Bob Billington.
