Read More	Big Timber Pioneer, July 30, 2009 Alice Elizabeth (Clouse) Mosness, age 82, died at the Pioneer Medical Center following a battle with cancer. She fought hard to remain on earth until he husband, our father, departed. Alice, the fourth child of the late Harry and Ida (Lokaaas) Clouse, was born on August 26, 1926, in Big Timber, Mont. Alice attended the Big Timber Elementary School through 8th grade and graduated from the Sweet Grass County High School in 1944. Alice, a mall town girl, rode the train all the way from Big Timber to Washington, DC to work at the Pentagon as a temporary clerk typist during the summer of 1943. She held many jobs but the most important job to her was homemaker, wife, and mother. She was generous to a fault, caring and totally committed to her family. Alice had an angelic smile and special wink-you couldn't help but smile back. On November 23, 1943, in Livingston, Montana, Alice married Rudy Mosness, her hometown sweetheart. When Rudy was ordered to report to Texas, Alice followed; when Rudy received overseas orders, she returned home to Big Timber. Alice served many years as a member of the American Lutheran Church Ladies Auxiliary, helping with daycare during church services or assisting in the kitchen during funerals and weddings. Alice was a wonderful mother, loving and kindhearted. She was a great cook-nobody could make cinnamon rolls and roast beef with gravy like she did. Her children can recall many times returning home from school with the aroma of the fresh-baked bread or rolls. Alice was a doting grandmother. The grandchildren would agree that her lap was the coziest place on earth. Grandmothers hold you in their laps when you are small but they hold you in their hearts your whole life through. Alice is survived by her sister, Lucille Mossness, her children - Randolph Charles (James) of Emigrant, Mont.; Ronald Irvin (Linda) of Helena, Mont.; Raymond Kenneth (Cindy) of Reed Point, Mont.; and Pamela Jean (Steve) of Washington, D.C.; and 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
