Gray was born in Concordia, Kans. May 23, 1917 and made her departure from this life, August 16, 1932, at 10 p.m. Nine years ago she with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Gray, came to Superior to make her home. For two years prior to March of this year she had made her home with her grandparents in Glasco, Kansas where she received special treatments for her ailments. She had not been well for three years preceding her death. She attended public school until she was not physically able to attend any longer. When she was well she attended Sunday School and Christian Endeavor regularly. Because of a very kindly disposition she made friends very readily. Her early home-going leaves four brothers and four sisters to mourn, besides her father and mother and two grandparents. While she lived only a few years, her life had been a busy one. She was the oldest in the family of nine children and perhaps had given herself more freely to the care of children than many women who live a long life. Maybe it is not the length of years that we live, which our Father in Heaven recons, but rather the intensity of the life regardless of the length that we live. As flowers which fill the room with fragrance which is still enjoyed after the flowers are removed, so too, her life has filled the monds of loved ones with beautiful memories which will be unforgettable. Funeral services were conducted from the home Thursday, August 18, at 2:30 p.m. by the Rev. Carl O. Olson of the First Presbyterian. Music was furnished by the United Presbyterian where Alice Gertrude had attended S.S. and C.E. Her friends and schoolmates, Walter Louthan and family of Glasco, Kansas and Martha Dalrymple and Handy H. Gray and family of Minneapolis, Kansas were present at the funeral. Mrs. Gray will be remembered to her many Glasco friends as Mrs. (sic) Christa Mae Brott, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Brott.
