Mrs. N.L. Hinshaw Passed Away at Her Home in Halstead

Halstead, March 2,-Mrs. N.L. Hinshaw, clerk of the district court of Harvey county is dead at her home here.

Mrs. Hinshaw, as Alice Walker, came to Kansas with her parents in 1871, and lived until her marriage on a farm three miles north of Halstead. She taught the first term of school in what is now Halstead in 1872, driving in from the farm in a wagon hitched to an oxen team and returning home every night.
