Read More	Alice Theriault, 89, passed away on June 9, 2013 at Wilkes Terrace, Terrace Bay, Ontario. She was born on February 27th 1924 in Anse Bleu (Blue Cove) NB, the daughter of Joseph and Agla_ (Maggie) Landry. Born in a two-bedroom home without running water and only a kitchen stove for central heating, she had many stories of 3rd world hardship in rural French New Brunswick in the '20's and '30's. The siblings in order of birth were Leo, Stella, Marie, Laurence, Lina, Melvina, Damas, Alice, Armand and the two remaining survivors of the Landry family of Anse Bleu, Jeanette and Alexina. Alice married Alphonse (1919-1980) in 1949 and moved to rural, English, Northern Ontario to be with him. The culture shock must have been enormous with so many English-speaking neighbours Alice had to begin to learn a second language at the age of 25. She gave it her best shot with faith and courage, learning to speak, read and write in English, with only a grade three education behind her. The best 65 years of her life were spent in Terrace Bay, and even though she always called Anse Bleu home, she did it for her family. This defined her life in every way. Alice is survived by daughter Suzanne (Bevin) and sons Paul (Cindy), Louis, Maurice (Margaret), Allan (Marilyn) and Andre_ as well as loving grandchildren Joanne, Nicole, Julia (Jon), Michelle (Jon), Jon-Paul and Kameryn, step-grandchildren Aaron and Melody as well as great-grandchildren Lina, Eva, Luke and Benjamin. She was a very religious woman, faithful to her Church until it was no longer possible to attend. Alice had a wonderful sense of humour and was always up for playing practical jokes on other members of the family; she loved music and dancing and baking everyone's favourites. Her Christmas Acadian meat pies were outstanding. The grandchildren will all recount the room full of baked goods and bowls of chocolate chips on their visits, and no one enjoyed those sweet moments more than Grandma. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of McCausland Hospital, Wilkes Terrace and consoling neighbours Glorie Miller and Meredith Rennette who worked exceptionally to keep Mom/Grandma comfortable in her final days. Following cremation, a Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday June 12, 2013, when family and friends will gather at 11am at St. Martins of Tours Roman Catholic Church, Terrace Bay. Internment to follow at a later date in New Brunswick. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to St Martins Building Fund in Alice's name."
