Description	:	ALICE MAE LINDBURG Alice Mae (Fitzgerald) Lindburg was born on June 25, 1906 in Adams County, Iowa on a farm near Kent. She was the daughter of Thomas Edward and Nancy Ellen Finch Fitzgerald. She graduated from Creston High School in 1923 and from Stephens College, Columbia, Missouri in 1925. Alice was employed for 13 years in the office of the Iowa State Board of Regents. In April of 1941, she moved to Washington D. Read More	ALICE MAE LINDBURG Alice Mae (Fitzgerald) Lindburg was born on June 25, 1906 in Adams County, Iowa on a farm near Kent. She was the daughter of Thomas Edward and Nancy Ellen Finch Fitzgerald. She graduated from Creston High School in 1923 and from Stephens College, Columbia, Missouri in 1925. Alice was employed for 13 years in the office of the Iowa State Board of Regents. In April of 1941, she moved to Washington D. C. to work in the Army Judge Advocate Generals Office until the end of World War 2. At the conclusion of the War, Alice returned to Iowa to serve as Treasurer in the Iowa Schools for the Deaf. In December 1947, Alice married Wallace A. Lindburg in Council Bluffs, Iowa. They moved to Essex, Iowa on Christmas Day 1950 and lived in the Lindburg family home for over 50 years. During those years, Alice was involved in many organizations including the First Presbyterian Church, P.E.O., D.A.R., Republican Party Co. Chairman, and the Essex Library Board. Alice was especially proud of her P.E.O. service ad the Lied Library Board. She also served as the Essex Post Master. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, her only brother, Howard M. Fitzgerald, her only nephew, Thomas E. Fitzgerald, and her husband, Wallace A. Lindburg. She is survived by her niece, Sharon Fitzgerald of Carlisle, and her Grand Nephews, William J. Fitzgerald and his wife Moreen, Dale E. Fitzgerald and Grand Niece Danette I. Keuhn (Fitzgerald) and husband Michael Kuehn. Alice also is survived by many other nieces and nephews, as well as many, many, very close friends. She was loved and will be missed by us all. Service plans will be announced when scheduled.
