Description	:	The body of Alice Mae, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Kriesel of Halsey, Neb., was brought to Ohiowa Friday for burial at the South Lutheran Cemetery. The babe, aged two months, took with convulsions Thursday morning at 6 o'clock. An Army doctor about one-half mile distant was summoned to the home. At 10 a.m. she appeared normal, smiling and noticing those about her. Mrs. Kriesel prepared dinner, to which the family was seated later. A gurgling noise called their attention to the child, who was going into another convulsion. The father hurried for the doctor, but she passed away just before the arrival of the doctor, who tried to restore life, his efforts being in vain. Alice Mae was born November 17, 1934. She passed away January 17, 1935, at 11:55 a.m. She stayed only a brief period in the home, just a bud, which for some unseen reason, was not to burst into bloom. Surviving are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Kriesel, three sisters and one brother, Dorothy, Leona, Keith and Lois Ann; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Schweer of Ohiowa, and Mrs. Albertine Kriesel in Germany; also other relatives. Short funeral rites were held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, January 19, from the Chris Swheer home with Rev. William Harder, South Lutheran pastor, officiating. Members of the South Lutheran choir sang. The body was interred at the South Lutheran Cemetery by W. A. Philippi. Mr. and Mrs. Kresel lived in this community until two years ago this coming March, when they moved to Thedford. Last spring they located at Halsey on a farm. Mr. Kriesel is working at the CCC camp one-half mile from their home. The parents and family started to Ohiowa about 6 a. m. Friday morning with Alice Mae's body, making the trip of 253 miles in six hours, reaching here just before noon. They visited a few days following the funeral, planning to depart Wednesday morning for Halsey if weather permitted. The Nebraska Signal January 1935
