George Snyder officiating. Flower bearers were Mr. and Mrs. Thayer Anderson and Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Fada. Pall bearers were Georg Peterman, Paul Smith, Donald Ackerman, George Peterson, Darrell Talbot, and Lowell Kerr. Music was by Verle Peterson accompanied at by Mabel Dunn. Alice Marie Thomas, daughter of C. S. and Jennie K. Nelson was born January 25, 1911 near Carbon, Iowa and passed away Sunday afternoon October 14, 1962 at the Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska where she had been a patient for several day, at the age of 51 years, 8 months, and 19 days. She grew to womanhood in Page county where she was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. After her marriage, she united with the Pilot Grove Methodist Church later transfer to the Villisca Methodist Church, where she was a member at the time of her death. She was graduated from the Essex High School with the class of 1928. On March 4, 1930, she was united in marriage to Lloyd G. Thomas. To this union two children were born. They began farming near Elliott and later moved to the Morton Mills community. Mrs.Thomas’ home, family, and friends were of utmost interest and importance in her life and her winning smile will be greatly missed by all. She took an active part and interest in neighborhood clubs and church activities. Her relatives and friends were always welcomed to her home. She was preceded in death by her son, Richard; an older sister, who died in infancy; and her father. She is survived by her husband, Lloyd; one daughter, Mrs. Ruby Harper, Villisca; three grandchildren; Rachael Thomas, Bobbie and Nancy Harper; her mother, Jennie Nelson, Essex, Iowa; and one sister, Mrs. Ella McClintock, also of Essex and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
