She graduated from Avoca high school in 1939. She married Robert Henry Gilliland. They made their home in Persia, where Robert was depot agent. Three daughters were born to this union, Janet Marie, Dorothy Elizabeth, who died in infancy and Alice Louise. Robert died in 1946. On June 1 , 1947, she married Herbert George Heyde. They made their home on the family farm until the time of her entering Little Flower Haven in Earling. This was the place of her death on March 12, 1987 at age 65 years and 20 days. She was a member of the St. John's Lutheran church, the Veterans of Foreign War Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by her husband, Herbert; daughters, Janet Norgaard of Mo. Valley and Alice Mulder of Milford; her parents, William Myerses of Newton; brothers, Dwight of Monnett, MO.; Dwain of Bayard; Jack of Newton and Jim of Co. Bluffs; sisters, Marilyn Mertz of Newton; JoAnne Sebert of Oklahoma City; and Barbara Deeth of Perry; also one granddaughter; 8 grandsons, 3 great-granddaughters, 2 great-grandsons and other relatives. Funeral services were held at St. John's Lutheran church in Persia with Pastor David Bergstrom, officiating. Pallbearers were Rick Cooper, Gene Cooper, Mike Cooper, Arlon Grap, John E.
