Description	:	Alice May Flaherty, 85, of Wenatchee, passed away quietly on Sunday, August 18, 2002, at Colonial Vista Care Center, with her family by her side. She was born December 21, 1916 in Miles City, MT to Orrin W. and Viola May (Spencer) Titus. She moved to the Wenatchee Valley as a young girl and graduated from Wenatchee High School. She continued her education at Wenatchee Business College where she met her future husband, Gene. Read More	Alice May Flaherty, 85, of Wenatchee, passed away quietly on Sunday, August 18, 2002, at Colonial Vista Care Center, with her family by her side. She was born December 21, 1916 in Miles City, MT to Orrin W. and Viola May (Spencer) Titus. She moved to the Wenatchee Valley as a young girl and graduated from Wenatchee High School. She continued her education at Wenatchee Business College where she met her future husband, Gene. After corresponding for four years during World War II, they were married at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on June 7, 1945. They built a home in East Wenatchee where they raised their five children. Alice was busy with her family's activities, including being a room mother, a Camp Fire leader and watching Little League baseball games. She passed on her love of sewing to her daughters. After Alice retired from Farmers Home Administration, she and Gene enjoyed traveling, visiting their grandchildren and participating in NARFE activities. Her loving husband of 57 years, Eugene survives her. She will also be missed by her children Rebecca (Richard) Larsen of Olympia; Patricia Shimomura of Bellevue; Margaret (John) Hallock of Monroe; Eugene "Jerry" (Shelle) Flaherty of East Wenatchee; Toni (Tim) Tobin of Mercer Island; seven grandchildren, Grant and Kristen Larsen, Scott and Mariko Shimomura, Charlie and Stacey Tobin and Ian Flaherty. She is also survived by her sister, Helen Ivanich of Renton and her brother, Orrin W. Titus of Eugene, OR. She was one of the original members of Holy Apostles Catholic Church. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2002, at Holy Apostles Catholic Church with Fr. Maurie Peterson celebrating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. There will be a Rosary Service at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Telford's Chapel of the Valley. Viewing will be held Wednesday from 3 to 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
