Description	:	CLARK (Garby), Alice Merle — 86, of Kentville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, Saturday, February 20, 2010, at home. Born in Upper Kennetcook, she was a daughter of the late Ruel and Hazel (Hennigar) Garby. She was educated in Upper Kennetcook where she graduated from Grade 12. She then became employed with Clarke Brothers in Upper Kennetcook. In her younger years, she was an avid athlete. Alice was a stay-at-home mother, with her family being the focus of her life. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, John; daughter, Mary (Cecil) Lockhart, New Minas; sons, Harold "Sandy" (Denise), Saulnierville; Stanley (Nalom), Kentville; sister, Estelle Barron, Kennetcook; brothers, Laurie, Kentville; Lewis and Gerald "Gerry", both of Upper Kennetcook; grandchildren, Andrew (Shawna) and Anthony (Stephanie) Lockhart, Meghan and Brett Clark, Suzanne (J.C.) MacDonald and Alexandre Clark; six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by an infant sister, Marion. Cremation has taken place. The funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, February 24, in White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Archdeacon Lynn Uzans officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Stanley. Donations in memory may be made to the Annapolis Valley Victorian Order of Nurses - Palliative Care. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
