She was born on Sept. 23, 1932, in Luray and was a daughter of the late Walter Lee Viands and Elsie Mauck Viands. Mrs. Housden was a member of the Page United Methodist Church. Her husband, Stanley Newton Housden, died on Jan. 26, 1978. She is survived by two sons, David Lee Housden of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Kim N. She was born on Sept. 23, 1932, in Luray and was a daughter of the late Walter Lee Viands and Elsie Mauck Viands. Mrs. Housden was a member of the Page United Methodist Church. Her husband, Stanley Newton Housden, died on Jan. 26, 1978. She is survived by two sons, David Lee Housden of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Kim N. Housden of Stanley; four daughters, Karen Ahmed of Stanley, Barbara Sue Baptist and Terri Lynn Housden, both of Luray, and Susan Kaye Meadows of Elkton; four sisters, Shirley Comer, Norma Jean Huffman, Nina Saylor, and Becky Viands, all of Luray; two brothers, James Viands of Williamsburg, and Lewis Viands of Vienna; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Clyde and Walter Leroy Viands; and a sister, Lucy Keyser. A funeral service was conducted on Tuesday, May 7, at the Bradley Funeral Home by the Rev. Ralph H. Crabill. Burial was in the Beahm's Chapel Cemetery in Luray.
