He was born on April 26, 1922, in Luray and was a son of the late Walter Lee and Elsie Mauck Viands. Mr. Viands was an Army Veteran of World War II and was a truck driver, retiring in 1984. Y.; five sisters, Nina Saylor, Becky Viands, Shirley Comer, Norma Jean Huffman and Alice Housden, all of Luray; two brothers, Lewis Viands of Vienna and James Viands of Williamsburg; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Viands; and a sister, Lucy Keyser. Burial was in the Beahm's Chapel Cemetery, with military honors by the American Legion Post 22.
