However, Alice sadly told the 1900 Census taker that while she had given birth to 7 children, only 5 were living. They had at least one more child, Kenneth, born in 1908. In 1930, Thomas and Alice were farming in Union Township, Harrison County, Iowa. The 1930 US Census lists: Thomas A., 73, head, farmer, b. IL he was 31 at his first marriage Alice, 63, wife, b. IN she was 20 at her first marriage Bennie C., 30, son, b. IA, farmer Kenneth, 22, son, b. IA, farmer Alice died before 1940. That year, her widowed husband was living with her daughter Gladys Graybill and her family on a farm in Washington Township, Harrison County, Iowa. Her daughter Gladys would later make application and receive military headstones for her son, Kenneth.
