Description	:	Alice Sandbulte, 86, of Sioux Center died Tuesday, May 8, 2001, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City. A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 12 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Reformed Church in Sioux Center. The Rev. Roger Voskuil officiated. Burial followed at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center under the direction of the Oolman Funeral Home (Vander Ploeg Chapel) in Sioux Center. The couple made their home in Sioux Center. Mr. Sandbulte died Nov. 11, 1962, at Sioux Center. Alice was employed as a clerk in stores in Sioux Center, including Van' s Jewelry for many years. Later she was a foster grandmother at Hope Haven in Rock Valley. Mrs. Sandbulte was a member of First Reformed Church in Sioux Center and the Mary Circle of the church. She enjoyed sewing and needlepoint. Survivors include a son and his wife, Robert and Diane Sandbulte of Escondido, Calif.; a daughter and her husband, Julie and Henk Van Arkel of Burlingame, Calif.; two stepsons and their wives, Dr. Gerald and Mary Sandbulte of Napa, Calif, and Arlon and Joyce Sandbulte of Sioux Center; a stepson-in-law, John A. Franken of Sioux Center; a stepdaughter-in-law, Mary Sandbulte of Sioux Center; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a greatgreat- grandson; three sisters, Jean Visser of Green Valley, Ariz., Joan Harmelink of Denver, Colo, and Audry Rens of Escondido; and a brother, Morry Vande Berg of Orange City. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Sandbulte; a stepdaughter, Darlene Franken; a granddaughter, Kim Morrical; and a brother, Ted Vande Berg. Memorials are being directed to Hope Haven. Sioux County Capital Democrat 2001-05-17.
