Born February 22, 1917, in Central, SC, she was the daughter of the late Jim and Annie (Maw) Williams. A homemaker, she was a nurse at Dr. Peeks Hospital in Six Mile, SC, prior to retirement, a member of the Home Builders Association Auxiliary, a member of White Oak Baptist Church and the Faith Sunday School class. "Chip" Gilstrap Jr. (Julie) of Greenville, SC; seven grandchildren, Wendy H. Clarke (Keith), Kelly Howard, Zachary Smith, Jacob Smith, Brittney Gilstrap, Jameson Gilstrap, Kade Gilstrap; and two great-grandchildren, Hayden Clarke and Venna Shay Clarke. Services were held Tuesday, July 5, 2005, at 3:00 p.m. at White Oak Baptist Church, 1805 Wade Hampton Boulevard, Greenville, with the Rev. Jim Bates officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends Tuesday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials could be made to St. Francis Hospice, 414-A Pettigru St., Greenville, SC 29601 or Meals on Wheels, 15 Oregon Street, Greenville, SC 29605.
